“I heard the song at a concert, where the young singer’s face reflected her pleasure at participating in the music. I then discovered the forgetfulness of self, of each musician, to join the common treasure of the score. This artistic attitude gave me great happiness and I thought that, through my paintings, I could in turn express this enthusiasm for beauty.

It is a song that is constructed. First of all through drawing. The setting up of lines and surfaces in a questioning movement. Then the colours, the first of which leads to the others in a desire for harmony. It is at this point that we reach, at the heart of the painting, the hope of unveiling the song of Orfeo.”
