Pas jeter les mots takes place in a family where love is present but often unspoken. Talking, trusting words, is sometimes difficult. But in this family, there is Uncle. He smokes a lot and is different from the others: he writes, he makes words dance. For him, "words are always for life, always for someone". Words make you travel, and travelling makes you grow. Thanks to his art, tongues are gradually loosened and the world becomes a gentler place.
This short show gets straight to the heart of the matter. It speaks of transmission, family ties, heredity and freedom - that inner freedom that no one can take away from us. It highlights the power of poetry and the emancipating virtue of language.
Inspired by L'Escargot à plumes, a collection of poems by Jackie Poitevin, and created as part of the Théâtre des Marionnettes de Genève's Cabaret en chantier, Pas jeter les mots is aimed at all ages, from 7 upwards.
